How can i remove windows xp from my laptop and reinstall windows Me -the laptops original software?

Q. I have recently bought a used laptop that is old. The person I had bought it from had installed windows xp on it, even though it originally came with windows Me. I want to remove the windows xp because it runs slows on the laptop because it takes up more memory than the windows Me would. Also I want to remove windows xp because it is an illegal copy. So when I tried to run updates on it, windows would not install updates because the windows xp is not genuine.

A. I would suggest a full system restore replacing the Windows XP with the correct version of Windows ME. As explained from other members here, insert the system recovery disks if you have these and follow the instructions. This will completely remove all existing Windows XP profiles and will restore your laptop back to factory state after a full system restore.

It is also very likely that your laptop is not capable of working with Windows XP as a result of insufficient system resources on your laptop which is one reason why your laptop is not preforming at its optimum proficiency.

How often do new apple laptops come out?
Q. Right now, im a high school junior. I really want a new apple laptop for my birthday, and Im planning to use it for as long as from now, till the end of college. is that realistic? I already have an iMac, but i want one to carry around and do homework on the bus,..etc. Should I get one now? Or wait until end of senior year to get one?

A. It depends on the apple laptop's perceptions of how supportive its friends and relatives will be. Some will never come out, some will come out only to a select, trusted few friends and relatives, while others will flamboyantly make a big announcement and tell everyone they know within a few days.

How do I keep my laptops battery good?
Q. I want the best battery life as possible for as long as possible.. I heard its bad to keep it plugged in all the time. How much should I charge it?

A. Keeping it plugged in all the time is OK, but it is good to generally let the battery drain about once a week. This exercises the chemical reactions within the battery which helps preserve the life and quality.
