How long should a macbook pro take to start up?

Q. I recently had some mild damage to my MacBook pro and it took 33 seconds to start when I counted it. Is this bad?

A. Sounds about right. It will depend what is included in the startup sequence. If the Mac was shut down abruptly it will be checking the disc etc. when it starts up again which may make it appear slower than usual.
